More Than a Membership, A Professional Community
ASEPS is Arizona's only statewide professional society dedicated exclusively to ophthalmologists. When you join, you gain far more than a membership card. You gain a powerful collective voice at the Arizona Legislature, access to premier continuing medical education, a network of colleagues who understand the unique rewards and challenges of practicing eye medicine in Arizona, and the satisfaction of knowing your membership actively protects the future of your profession.
Whether you are a resident just entering the field, an early-career physician building your practice, a seasoned clinician shaping the profession, or a retired ophthalmologist who still cares about the work, there is a place for you in ASEPS.
Six Reasons to Join ASEPS Today
Premier Continuing Medical Education
ASEPS members gain access to high-quality CME opportunities throughout the year, headlined by our annual flagship event, the Grand Canyon Regional Ophthalmology Conference. Featuring clinical updates, surgical pearls, and expert-led sessions across all subspecialties, this is Arizona's most focused gathering of eye physicians and one of the most valuable CME experiences in the region.
A Statewide Professional Network
ASEPS connects you with approximately 140 ophthalmologists across every major subspecialty in Arizona, from the Phoenix metro area to practices across the state. Through annual meetings, committee involvement, and ongoing society communications, you build the professional relationships that fuel referrals, collaboration, and a stronger career. In a specialty that can feel isolated, ASEPS builds the community.
Statewide Advocacy That Protects Your Practice
ASEPS is the unified voice for ophthalmologists at the Arizona Legislature. We work every session to protect scope-of-practice laws, safeguard physician-led eye care, and push back against policies that threaten the integrity of your practice and your patients' safety. Your membership is the foundation of that power. Every dues-paying member strengthens our ability to advocate, lobby, and win.
Leadership and Committee Opportunities
ASEPS members have the opportunity to shape the future of ophthalmology in Arizona. Serve on the Nominating Committee, the Membership Committee, or other statewide initiatives that define the direction of the profession. Whether you want to lead from the front or contribute behind the scenes, there is a meaningful role for you within ASEPS.
Public Education and Patient Advocacy
ASEPS actively works to educate Arizona's public about the importance of ophthalmologist-led eye care, and the critical differences between ophthalmologists and other eyecare providers. When patients understand the distinction, they seek and receive better care. Your ASEPS membership supports this public education mission and amplifies the value of what you do every day.
Legislative, Regulatory & Payer Updates
Stay informed and ahead of the curve. ASEPS monitors Arizona legislation, state regulatory changes, and payer policy shifts that directly affect how you deliver care and how you get paid. Members receive timely updates so you are never caught off guard by a policy change that could impact your practice. Knowledge is protection, and ASEPS keeps you informed.
