About Us

Arizona's Statewide Voice for Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Representing, Educating, and Advocating Since 1981.

The Arizona Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons (ASEPS) is the statewide professional organization representing ophthalmologists who provide medical and surgical eye care across Arizona. Originally incorporated in 1981 as the Arizona Ophthalmological Society, our organization has grown into the unified and trusted voice for eye physicians throughout the state, at the legislature, in the community, and within the profession.

We serve physicians, trainees, and the patients who rely on them. Our work is built on a commitment to promoting excellence in clinical practice, continuing medical education, and meaningful advocacy for the profession. Whether you are a practicing ophthalmologist, a resident just beginning your training, or a retired physician who still cares deeply about the field, ASEPS is your professional home in Arizona.

Our mission is to advance the science and art of ophthalmology, support the highest standards of medical and surgical eye care, and strengthen the professional community of eye physicians throughout the state. We also work to educate the public about eye health and the critical differences between ophthalmologists and other eyecare providers, because informed patients receive better care.

ASEPS represents approximately 140 ophthalmologists across all general and subspecialty areas, from the Phoenix metropolitan area to communities throughout Arizona. We are proud to be the only statewide professional society dedicated exclusively to Arizona's eye physicians and surgeons.
